Daily Devotion: I Will Trust in Thee - Psalm 56:3

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee. – Psalm 56:3

Are you afraid? Do you doubt and worry? Are you troubled about things you cannot control? If so, dear one, stir up the gift of faith that is within you.

Understandably we are concerned about the problems of life. We should be concerned. Even Jesus, holding all power and understanding, was concerned. However, concern should not turn to worry. By faith, we can know that the will of God will be served and all things will work for good to those that love the Lord (Romans 8:28).

Instead of descending into fear, I pray that you and I will run to the Lord and trust Him. As we turn to Him, we will find hope restored. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).

Daily Devotion: Psalm 88:1-4

Most Psalms start in a low place and as the writer expresses his thoughts, the Lord begins to lift him up out of that dry place. Though this entire Psalm is a fervent cry unto the Lord, the Psalmist tells us specifically in three verses that he cried daily unto the Lord.
