Matthew 19:2 – And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.

There re numerous Scriptures that show us the importance of following God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. The consequences of failing to follow our Lord are clear, but what are the benefits? Does the Lord bless us when we follow Him? Come and see.

Here are just a few verses that demonstrate the blessings of following God…

Psalm 119:1-2 – Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.  Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

Proberbs 8:32 – Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

Matthew 5:3-10 – Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Revelation 22:14 – Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Though just a sampling, these Scriptures tell us that the blessings are plentiful for those dedicated to God and those who seek His righteousness.   Specifically, comfort, mercy, recognition, adoption, the righteousness, peace, and joy in the Kingdom of Heaven, not to mention the great blessing of seeing God as one of His children are all part of the blessings found in following the Lord.  Maybe the most immediate blessing in following Christ is that of healing when we follow him.

The Son of God and King of Kings, Jesus of Nazareth is acquainted with our meanest griefs and troubles.  As then, it is true today.  Jesus heals us of our sins and failures.  Seek Him with all your efforts and enjoy blessings.  Rejoice in the blessings.  It is His good pleasure to save us and bless us.  Glory to His Name!
