Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. Romans 4:18

We often struggle to believe as we ought.  Whether it is sin or the cares and distractions of this world, our old nature chafes to trap us into unbelief.  Some people succeed in resisting this impulse better than others, and their lives are remarkable. One such person was Abraham.  Following the direction of God, this already aged man left his home to follow God’s instruction. He had no worldly assurances of success, but he hoped against hope in the Lord.

God blessed Abraham and forgave him much as well because Abraham ultimately trusted in Him.  May the Lord bless you to hope against hope when all seems strange around you. Rest assured, the Lord is working in your life.
