Daily Devotion: Psalm 135:13

Psalm 135:13   "Thy name, O LORD, endureth for ever; and thy memorial, O LORD, throughout all generations."

This morning's devotion is a very simple one; yet, one that bears importance in our lives today. The principle of today's devotion is repeated throughout the Word of God.
(Malachi 3:6)    "For I am the LORD, I change not"
(Hebrews 13:8)    "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever."

These are only two of the passages that declare God does not and never will change. The God of Whom we read in the Bible from thousands of years ago, is the very same today as when He created this universe.  He is the same as when He opened the way for the children of Israel to go through the Red Sea.  As He provided for the people of Israel, He still provides for us today.  As He defeated the giants of the land and the giant against whom David went, God will help us defeat the giants that rise up against us today. We all have giants that are either real or imagined that prevent us from entering into the fullness of the joy of the Lord.  He has so many blessings in store for us, but we somehow have either diminished our view of the power of God or we have become diminished in our faith to step out and follow Him.  We ask for signs and things which we think will affirm our faith is legitimate, when in reality God has given us faith to believe He is and He is the provider of all blessings. We are to simply follow Him.

"But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)  The entire 11th chapter of Hebrews speaks of those saints of God who simply believed God and walked with Him. So as we think of all the saints who walked with God and went against human logic and against all enemies that came against them, we can be assured by today's verse that God is still the same for us today.  "Thy name, O LORD, endureth forever."  He changes not. He is the same yesteray, and to day, and for ever.  So my question to myself this morning would be this, Since God doesn't change, and His grace, power, and glory is sufficient for every need, why is my faith so small?

Daily Devotion: Colossians 1:25-26

Colossians 1:25-26    “Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;  Even   the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:” In verse twenty-four, Paul has expressed his joy in bearing hardship for the church. It is of this church, the body of Jesus Christ, that he is made a minister. Since Paul used the phrase “made a minister” in verse twenty-three of this same chapter, it seems there is something important that he wishes to convey. The Greek word translated as “made” means “to cause to be.” It was the will of God (Col 1:1) that caused Paul to become a minister. God is always the cause of true ministry. Although our fathers may be ministers, if we become true ministers of the gospel it is  not  because our fathers are ministers. True ministers of the gospel do not take that path because they seek honor for themselves, or b...

Daily Devotion: Exodus 7:6-10

Exodus 7:6-10    "And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they. And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh. And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent." Moses and Aaron had begun to doubt whether they were right for the job the LORD had given them. Here, it is evident that God granted them a renewal of their faith. Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them. In my opinion, all truly successful outcomes in our lives begin with this. Moses and Aaron were not young men. Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three years old. Still,...
