Daily Devotion: Exodus 3:6-10

Exodus 3:6-10    "Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt."

God had just called to Moses out of the bush that burned but was not consumed. He had told him that he was standing on holy ground. In verse six God confirms in no uncertain terms that He is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, Moses forebears. Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look intently upon even this representative form of God.

God began to give Moses some assurances. He told Moses that He had “surely” seen the affliction of the children of Israel. He had heard their cry and knew why they cried. God knew (observed, recognized, and cared about) their sorrows.

God revealed a measure of His purpose to Moses. He said “I am come down” to the place of their affliction. He was there to rescue them from the Egyptians. He would bring them up out of Egypt to a good land that flowed with milk and honey. I am sure all of this was wonderful for Moses to hear until God got to the part where He was going to send Moses and use him to deliver the children of Israel.

As we have seen time and time again, God knows the condition of His people. God has plans and purposes to bring about deliverance from the hand of the oppressor. He will always bring His people “up” from their bondage. This is wonderful for us to consider until we realize that His plans involve us.

We become so complacent in the work that Christ finished for us in eternity that we forget God’s kingdom here. Never doubt that God can and will use us to bring a message of deliverance for His children in bondage and show His mighty power in our lives. Do not be afraid of your inabilities and insecurities. God is never going to send you in your strength, but always in His!

Daily Devotion: Psalm 100:1-5

Psalm 100:1-5      Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.   (2)  Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.   (3)  Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.   (4)  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.   (5)  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. Happy Thanksgiving! I want to say that I pray each one has a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.  No doubt, there will be a "joyful noise" as families gather together to enjoy a delicious feast. Laughter and joy will be abundant. I am so thankful for that blessing of gladness upon our hearts and minds. God is so good. As we enter into the festivities, may our hearts and minds be filled with true thanksgiving unto the Lord for His goodness and mercy upon us. Though it is impossible to

Daily Devotion: Genesis 3:15

Genesis 3:15   "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." In this verse we see the first prophecy concerning the work of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The work of Jesus Christ is in opposition to the work of the serpent (Satan). (Romans 8:6-8 )   "For to be carnally minded  is  death; but to be spiritually minded  is  life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind  is  enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8 ) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." The carnal mind with which we all have to contend is the offspring of the transgression in the Garden. After their sin, carnality became a constant and daily battle. It was because of sin that Jesus came to this earth. "... "For to be carnally minded  is  death..." The spiritual mind is the offspring of the work of the seed of the woman - Jesus.  &
