Daily Devotion: Exodus 8:1-4

Exodus 8:1-4    "And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs: And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs: And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants."

The plague of all the water in Egypt becoming blood passed in seven days. The LORD sent Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh again, telling him to let the children of Israel go that they might serve (worship) God. The LORD’s message was always consistent. He demanded the liberty of His people in order that they might worship.

God did not blindside Pharaoh with anything. He turned the water to blood in Pharaoh’s sight. Here, the LORD warns Pharaoh ahead of time again and tells him exactly what He is going to do. With the river and all the canals that existed in Egypt, frogs would have been a common sight. But God was going to take a common thing and make it uncommon.

Few of us would rest easy if we knew there was a frog in the house. We would track it down and remove it. We would not want to share our living space with one frog. We certainly would not want one in our bed or on our food. Now, consider what God did in Egypt.

God caused the river to produce more frogs than the Egyptians (or Israel) had ever seen. Frogs were everywhere. They deliberately went into Pharaoh’s home, the homes of his counselor’s, and the homes of the people in such abundance that they were in their beds. There would be no rest, no intimacy, no sleep for the children because of the frogs and the noise they would be making.

They would not stop with being in their bedchamber. The frogs would get on the people. Imagine not being able to go about your daily routine because frogs were constantly getting on you. You could not even cook a meal because the frogs had invaded your oven, were in your mixing bowls, and even in the food you were attempting to prepare.

Dear ones, God’s message is still consistent today, declaring liberty for His children that we might worship Him. It also carries a warning of trials that will come when His message is not heeded. His judgement comes from every border so that there is no escaping it. He still uses common things in uncommon ways to cause the people to know that He alone is God!

Daily Devotion: Genesis 3:15

Genesis 3:15   "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." In this verse we see the first prophecy concerning the work of our Lord Jesus Christ.  The work of Jesus Christ is in opposition to the work of the serpent (Satan). (Romans 8:6-8 )   "For to be carnally minded  is  death; but to be spiritually minded  is  life and peace. (7) Because the carnal mind  is  enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (8 ) So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." The carnal mind with which we all have to contend is the offspring of the transgression in the Garden. After their sin, carnality became a constant and daily battle. It was because of sin that Jesus came to this earth. "... "For to be carnally minded  is  death..." The spiritual mind is the offspring of the work of the seed of the woman - Jesus.  &
