Ephesians 2:18-22 "For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. (19) Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; (20) And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; (21) In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: (22) In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."
Notice something that has been consistent since the first verse of the first
chapter? That's right - everything is centered on and focused upon JESUS! He
has preeminence in all matters concerning our Heavenly Father and heavenly
matters. He is our redemption. He is our salvation. He is our forgiveness. We
are accepted by God through the work of Jesus Christ. He is our peace. He is
our resurrection. He is our strength. He is our everything. It is through Hom,
and only Him, that we have full and complete access to the very throne of God.
It is on these great truths that the foundation of the Church is built. These
are the great fundamental truths that were boldly declared by the apostles and
prophets. It is through the application of these great truths that we are built
upon the solid foundation and made to be "an habitation of God through the
Spirit." This is that solid rock that Jesus taught us to build our lives
upon and shall withstand every storm and fiery trial that will come against us.
To God be the glory through our Lord Jesus Christ. May we stand firm upon the
blessed Gospel of Christ.
1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus' name
Refrain
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
2. When darkness veils His lovely face
I'll rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy day
My anchor holds within the veil (Refrain)
3. His oath, His covenant, His blood
Support me in the whelming flood
When all around my soul gives way
He then is all my hope and stay (Refrain)
