Revelation 19:6 "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth."
"The Lord God omnipotent reigneth." This part of the sentence
stands on its own merit. Even if the great multitude did not praise Him,
"the Lord God omnipotent reigneth." If the many waters did not praise
Him, "the Lord God omnipotent reigneth." If the mighty thunderings
did not roll across the sky, "the Lord God omnipotent reigneth." If I
did not praise Him, the rocks would cry out because "the Lord God
omnipotent reigneth." He reigns and He rules this great universe and all
that is in it. Satan had to ask permission before he could go against
Job. There is nothing outside the realm of God's authority. "Praise our
God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great."
(Revelation 19:5)
"Praise Him, ye that fear God." Much is spoken in the Bible about
fearing God. I realize there are those who fear His wrath. And there is a time
and place for that. But it seems to me that the most used Bible definition of
the word, fear, is to honor and give glory unto the Lord. There were many
things that I was exposed to, especially as a teenager, in which I would not
participate. It wasn't always because I didn't want to participate; rather, I
was afraid that it would hurt my father if he found out about it. It wasn't
necessarily that I feared his punishing me, but I was afraid that it would hurt
him to know I had done something wrong. I wish I could tell you that that was
always the case in my life, but many times I remember specifically thinking to
myself that I needed to just back away from a particular situation. If
that is true of my earthly father, how much greater is it true concerning my
Heavenly Father? I don't want the rocks to cry out, so I need to be zealous
with my "Allelujah's". I should be vocal, brave, and bold in
declaring the goodness of God. Lord, I praise your Holy Name! You are all
glorious and filled with honour and worthy of my praise! In Jesus' name!
I love You, Lord
For Your mercy never fails me
All my days, I've been held in Your hands
From the moment that I wake up
Until I lay my head
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
And all my life You have been faithful
And all my life You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
