Psalm 68:19-20 "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah. (20) He that is our God is the God of salvation; and unto GOD the Lord belong the issues from death."
"Blessed be the Lord." Those words would be true even if the rest of
this verse did not exist. When I look at those four words, I think of Job.
After he had lost his family, his livelihood, and would soon lose his health,
he declared, "Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I
return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the
name of the LORD." (Job 1:21) Paul began with these words when he wrote to
the Church at Ephesus, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in
Christ." (Ephesians 1:3) Before God created the universe, He is blessed.
When this world shall dissolve, He shall be blessed. When my life is in
wonderful places, He is blessed. When I am in a low place in life, my God is
blessed! I have a personal daily relationship with Him because our blessed God
"is the God of salvation." He is worthy of my praise and all honor
and glory belongs unto Him. It seems to me that if I cannot see Him as being
the high and holy God, then I could easily take all those daily benefits for
granted. He is THE Lord and because of His grace and mercy, I can also
say that THE Lord is MY LORD! Thank you Heavenly Father for the glorious
blessing of salvation!
Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing,
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
The glories of my God and king!
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
Blessed be the Name, blessed be the Name,
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
Blessed be the Name, blessed be the Name,
Blessed be the Name of the Lord!
