Daily Devotion: Psalm 90:1-2

Psalm 90:1-2  A Prayer of Moses the man of God. "Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.  (2)  Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."

Yesterday and today, my thoughts have been upon the greatness of our God. I know that is supposed to be my thoughts everyday, but there are times when my thoughts drift to myself, my struggles, and the troubles and trials of my loved ones. I rejoice in the fact that our Lord is our dwelling place even though sometimes I'm like a prodigal in that my thoughts drift away from that dwelling place. But I'm thankful that the arm of my Lord is not shortened. He is able to reach out and bring me back into His presence. The Lord upon whom I depend is the very same God who spoke this universe into existence. He is the same God who commanded the Red Sea to part and allow the children of Israel to cross over on dry land. He's the same God who provided the needs of His people as they wandered through the wilderness. He still provides our needs. He's the same God who walked around in the fire with the three Hebrew children and closed the mouths of the lions in the den. He's the same God who loves us so much that He sent His only begotten Son into this world of sin to die for us. He's the same God who raised His Son from the dead and freed us from the prison of sin wherein we were held. Yes, He's the same God! Aren't you thankful?

When did He become God? Now, that's a question, isn't it? Well, if you can find when "everlasting" began, then you can find when God began. And when you can find that "everlasting" ends, then you can know when God will cease to be God. The thing about that is this - When you think you have found the beginning of everlasting, there is still everlasting before that moment and when you think you have found the end of everlasting, there will still be everlasting after that moment. God always has been and He always will be. When God formed Adam from the dust, He was the dwelling place. When the very last one shall be conceived, He will still be the dwelling place. Before this world was created, He was the dwelling place. When this world comes to an end, He will be the dwelling place. Can you see how my thoughts have been going in the past two days? Sometimes I wonder if we really stop to give God the proper place in our thoughts. God forbid that we would ever take Him for granted. He allows us to dwell in Him and without Him, we can do absolutely nothing. He is our all and in all. "The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." (Jeremiah 31:3) Yes, when you find the beginning of everlasting, you will find that He loves you. When you find the end of everlasting, you will find that He loves you. Thank you, Heavenly Father!

There is a name I love to hear,
I love to sing its worth;
it sounds like music in my ear,
the sweetest name on earth.

O how I love Jesus,
O how I love Jesus,
O how I love Jesus,
because he first loved me!

Daily Devotion: Colossians 1:25-26

Colossians 1:25-26    “Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;  Even   the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:” In verse twenty-four, Paul has expressed his joy in bearing hardship for the church. It is of this church, the body of Jesus Christ, that he is made a minister. Since Paul used the phrase “made a minister” in verse twenty-three of this same chapter, it seems there is something important that he wishes to convey. The Greek word translated as “made” means “to cause to be.” It was the will of God (Col 1:1) that caused Paul to become a minister. God is always the cause of true ministry. Although our fathers may be ministers, if we become true ministers of the gospel it is  not  because our fathers are ministers. True ministers of the gospel do not take that path because they seek honor for themselves, or b...

Daily Devotion: Exodus 7:6-10

Exodus 7:6-10    "And Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them, so did they. And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh. And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent." Moses and Aaron had begun to doubt whether they were right for the job the LORD had given them. Here, it is evident that God granted them a renewal of their faith. Moses and Aaron did as the LORD commanded them. In my opinion, all truly successful outcomes in our lives begin with this. Moses and Aaron were not young men. Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three years old. Still,...
