Psalm 93:1-5 "The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. (2) Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. (3) The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. (4) The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. (5) Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O LORD, for ever."
I read these five verses and my mind begins to go in many different directions.
It seems to always come back to the place where I ask myself, "How high do
I esteem the Lord, my God?" What thoughts go through my mind when I think
of God? How often do I think of Him? Do I think of Him as being the One I can
always go to when I am in trouble? There's nothing wrong with that line of
thinking unless the only time I think about Him is when I am in trouble.
When I call Him Lord, do I understand that He is to have full control over my
life? Jesus asked the question, "Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not
the things which I say?" (Luke 6:46) The Word of God teaches me that the
Lord God Almighty is the beginning and end. He is Alpha and Omega. He is the
First and the Last. And He is everything in between. My God reigns! "He is
clothed in majesty." He demands and deserves my utmost for He is the
Highest. He has always been on His throne and He always will be in full
control. Nothing is outside His knowledge nor His power. He established the
world and it cannot be moved. No matter how noisy the world becomes, "The
LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters." How do I
know these things? The "testimonies are very sure." His Word tells me
of His majestic greatness! Going back to yesterday's thoughts, "Those that
be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our
God." It is imperative that we be as Jesus. We are told concerning Him -
"... as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath
day." Holiness becometh thine house O Lord, for ever!
