Genesis 6:8-9   “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (9) These  are  the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man  and  perfect in his generations,  and  Noah walked with God.”   Recently, we saw God was grieved by the wickedness of man. His creation had turned away from Him. In all the earth, there was only one man whose family had been with the Lord and walking in His will.  We saw a few days ago that Enoch walked with God, and God took him. Today, we see that Noah walked with God and God used him.  It repented God that He had made man, but “Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.”    We see “Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations.” That does not mean that Noah was without sin; rather, his family had remained true to the direction of God concerning their lineage. Noah was mature in his walk with the Lord and was sensitive to the Spirit of God leading him in his life....

Genesis 6:5-6    "And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  (6)  And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." "Every imagination of the thoughts of (man's) heart was only evil continually."  Again, I go back to the beginning.  "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness..." (Genesis 1:26) But we read after the fall of Adam, "And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image..." (Genesis 5:3)  I bring this distinction to show God's design for man was not that of wicked living; rather, He created Adam in his own image of sinlessness.  Now we come to the word that could throw us off course if we are not careful. Genesis 6:1-2    "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,  (2)  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose." Let's go back to the beginning once again.  "And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man." (Genesis 2:22) Now let's contrast that with today's verses.  "They took them wives of all which they chose." Can we immediately see a difference between the language of Genesis 2 and Genesis 6?  God brought the woman to Adam and now men are choosing their own wives. You might ask, "What difference does that make?"  I'm glad you asked.  God never changes; therefore we can always go back to the beginning when we want to see His way of doing things.
