Isaiah 54:17 "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD."
In the 54th chapter, God is making a promise to Judah that the enemies who come
against them will not be formed by Him. That is to say, He allowed Babylon to
come against Jerusalem to carry them away. Listen to His words previous to
today's verse: "For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have
sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn
that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee." (Isaiah 54:9)
He said His covenant would not be removed from them and then He makes the
pronouncement in today's verse: "No weapon that is formed against thee
shall prosper: and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou
shalt condemn." This is such a precious promise from God to "the
servants of the Lord." Quite honestly, though I love all of the verse and
it's all true, these last words are the ones that calm my heart and soul:
"And.... "their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord."
Remember Friday's words from the book of Romans? "There is none
righteous, no, not one." (Romans 3:10) Though I have no
righteousness of my own to declare before the Lord, He has declared His
righteousness unto me.
I'm going to finish with God's Word doing the speaking. I pray all of this will
sink deep into our hearts and we can find sweet peace and comfort in our Lord.
"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be
made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)
(Romans 8:31-34) "What shall we then say to these things? If
God be for us, who can be against us? (32) He that spared not his
own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely
give us all things? (33) Who shall lay any thing to the charge of
God's elect? It is God that justifieth. (34) Who is he that
condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is
even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us."
He goes on to say, Who can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus? We
already know the answer to that... "No weapon that is formed against thee
shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou
shalt condemn." There is no weapon that can separate us. There is no
tongue that can condemn us because we have the Advocate, Christ Jesus Who
declares.... "I died for him/her." Praise His Name! Stand up!
Stand up for Jesus!
